LOS ANGELES -- Three people suffered minor injuries after a wind event described as a "dust devil" hit a fan area where preparations for the Rose Bowl were underway Wednesday, the day before the game.
FOX 13 News sister station KTLA 5 in Los Angeles reports the event happened in the "fanfest" area outside of Pasadena Stadium, and video footage of the event showed tents blowing into the air and debris circling overhead.
Witnesses screamed and fled and at one point a person who appears to grab a flying tent appears to get knocked to the ground. See the video above for the footage, which was shot by AdSport CEO Gary Knudson and is courtesy KTLA 5. Ryan Kittel of the National Weather Service viewed the video, and, according to KTLA, he said it was not a tornado but more like a "dust devil."
