WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah — A 20-year-old man is in custody after leading police on a chase and fire shots at them in West Valley City Monday afternoon, according to police officials.

At approximately 3:47 p.m., a West Valley City police officer spotted a stolen vehicle in the area of 3200 West and 2855 South. When he attempted to make a traffic stop the suspect fled.

Two empty shell casings were found at the scene.

Grijalva was booked into Salt Lake County Jail on two counts of attempted aggravated murder, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a firearm by a restricted person, possession of a firearm with removed serial number and fleeing from police.
