Man holds knife to restaurant employee’s neck during robbery

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah — Police are searching for a man who robbed a fast food restaurant Saturday evening, and police said the man held a knife to an employee’s neck as he ordered her to open the register and give him money.

Lt. Justin Hoyal of the Unified Police Department said the robbery occurred at the Arctic Circle located at 4796 South Redwood Road; FOX 13 News first heard reports of the robbery just before 9 p.m.

Hoyal said here were no employees in the front area of the restaurant when the man entered, as they were in a back room having some kind of meeting. The suspect walked around the counter and went to where the employees were meeting.

The suspect then held a knife against the back of an employee’s neck and ordered her to accompany him to the front and give him money. There were no injuries in connection with the incident.

The man fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. Police have not yet provided a description of the man. Anyone with information about the crime or the suspect is asked to contact police.
