Leading the pack with the most nominations is “Transformers: Age of Extinction.”
Director Michael Bay’s special effects extravaganza is up for seven Razzies including “Worst Picture,” “Worst Screenplay” and “Worst Director.”
“Transformers” is competing against “Legends of Hercules,” “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” the Nicolas Cage thriller “Left Behind” and the faith-based film, “Saving Christmas,” in the “Worst Film” category.
“Hercules” and “Saving Christmas,” which stars Kirk Cameron, receiving six nominations each in various worst achievement in cinema categories.
In the performance categories, Kelsey Grammer and Cameron Diaz are Razzie favorites this year.
Diaz earned three worst actress nominations for her roles in “Sex Tape,” “Annie” and “The Other Woman.”
She got a fourth nomination as half of a “Worst Screen Combo,” for her pairing with “Sex Tape” co-star Jason Siegel.
Grammer earned four nominations for his “Worst Acting” in “Transformers,” “Expendables: 3,” “Legends of Oz” and “Think Like a Man Too.”
Something new this year, the Razzies are trying to be forgiving.
There’s a new category, the “Razzie Redeemer Award,” for former winners who have gone on to better things.
This year’s nominees are Ben Affleck, Jennifer Aniston, Mike Myers, Keanu Reeves and Kristen Stewart.
The Razzies are chosen by 757 members of the Golden Raspberry Awards Foundation and the Razzie Redeemer Award will be open to voting by the public through RottenTomatoes.com.
The Razzie winners will be announced Feb. 21 on the eve of the Academy Awards.
