Police search for suspect accused of robbing market, pistol-whipping clerk

WEST JORDAN, Utah - Officials are looking for a suspect accused of robbing a West Jordan market and pistol-whipping the store clerk.

Authorities were called to the Quik Pik Market near 4800 W. and 7000 S. just before 3 p.m. Friday.

Police said a masked suspect tried to rob the store and the clerk fought back.

The clerk struggled with the suspect and was able to remove his mask and jacket but the suspect pistol-whipped the clerk and ran.

The suspect is described as a Polynesian man with dreadlocks and was last seen wearing bright orange shoes. Surveillance equipment at the store captured images of the suspect. See the photo to the right as well as the video above for those images.
