SALT LAKE CITY — A bill that would amend a section of Utah Code to excuse breast-feeding mothers from serving jury duty passed the House by a vote of 74-0 Monday morning.
HB0154, sponsored by Rep. Mike K. McKell (R-Spanish Fork) and Sen. Deidre M. Henderson (R-Spanish Fork), would alter Utah Code Title 78B, Chapter 1, Section 109 to provide “that a mother who is breastfeeding a child may be excused from jury service.”
The bill now goes to the Senate.
