SALT LAKE CITY - Authorities have released the officer's body cam footage after a suspect pinned him between cars while trying to get away earlier this month.

About a minute into the video below, the officer tells the suspect, Flapp Fletcher Dahlquist, to turn off the car--which sparks the altercation.

Back on Feb. 6, Salt Lake City Police arrested a suspect after he allegedly hit an officer with a stolen car near 1465 W. and 1565 S. In the video, the officer tries to talk to the suspect about the vehicle when the suspect speeds off, with car door open, hitting the officer in the process.

Officials said the suspect also hit a tree before ditching the stolen car in a store parking lot nearby. Police caught up to him a short time later and took him into custody. The officer suffered minor injuries and is recovering well.

Dahlquist has been charged with possessing a stolen vehicle, evading police and aggravated assault.

FOX 13 News' Robert Boyd spoke with Salt Lake County District Sim Gill about the assault, see the video above for that interview.
