SALT LAKE CITY — A bill aimed at cracking down on cockfighting in Utah has passed the Senate on a narrow vote.
State senators voted 17-11 on Monday to pass Senate Bill 134, which was watered down to make it a misdemeanor crime on the first offense and a felony on the second offense. The bill now goes on to the House for consideration.
