- 1 pound extra lean ground turkey
- 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon dried sage
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 tablespoon canola oil
- 12 large egg whites
- 3 tablespoons almond milk
- 1 tablespoon olive oil based, unsalted butter
- Fresh fruit (optional)
- No Salt Seasoning and Pepper, to taste
Combine the turkey, maple syrup, sage, thyme, no salt seasoning and pepper and form into eight 2½-inch patties. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the patties and cook, turning once, until cooked through, 2 to 3 minutes per side; transfer to a plate covered with a paper towel to absorb excess fat.
In a medium bowl, beat the egg whites, almond milk, no salt seasoning and pepper. In a second large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the eggs and cook, stirring, until set but still soft, 2 to 3 minutes. Serve eggs with the patties and fresh fruit, if desired.
Note: Serve with fresh salsa or low sodium hot sauce for eggs.
