OGDEN, Utah – A child reportedly broke both legs and one of his arms when he moved into the street to retrieve a toy and was hit by an SUV in Ogden Saturday.
According to information from the Ogden Police Department, the 7-year-old boy quickly left the curb to retrieve a toy and was struck by a Chevy Tahoe traveling eastbound in the area of 600 30th Street. Police first reported the crash around 6:33 p.m.
Police initially stated the child suffered a broken leg and head lacerations but later said he was reported to have broken both of his legs and one of his arms. Police said the child is with family and is, aside from the broken bones, “responsive and well”.
The driver of the Chevy Tahoe, a 41-year-old male, was not cited in the crash and police said traffic was not impacted.
Police said they are not releasing the identity of the child or the driver.
