OREM, Utah — Traffic was slowed in Orem Friday after a semitrailer hauling ice cream tipped on its side on a freeway on-ramp.
Utah Highway Patrol personnel said a semitrailer hauling a load of Meadow Gold ice cream rolled over on the northbound on-ramp to I-15 at 800 North in Orem, and FOX 13 News first heard reports of the crash just after 5 p.m.
UHP said the driver of the truck suffered minor injuries and that crews will bring in another semitrailer to the rolled vehicle in order to off-load the ice cream. Utah Department of Transportation traffic cameras showed the rolled semi blocking lanes of the on ramp.
Those traveling west on 800 North are still being allowed to turn right onto the ramp, but drivers coming from the other direction are not being allowed to turn left onto the ramp, as the truck is blocking a lane.
