PROVO, Utah — A fire early Monday morning caused significant damage and forced officials to evacuate guests in a Provo hotel.
Firefighters were called to the Little Suites Inn, 1380 S. University Ave., around 12:30.
Hotel management told fire officials they could smell smoke and that the smoke detectors were going off, but they couldn’t see any flames.
Fire crews found the fire in a crawl space between walls at the hotel.
About eight rooms sustained heavy water and smoke damage. All of the guests affected by the fire were relocated to new rooms.
Damage is estimated at $35-75,000.
