JORDANELLE RESERVOIR, Utah -- Don't let the warm weather fool you.  Utah's waterways are still dangerously cold and, to get the word out, the Department of Natural Resources put on a cold water demonstration Thursday at Jordanelle Reservoir.

The goal of the demonstration was to show the importance of wearing a life jacket and how dangerous Utah’s water can be during the springtime.

The DNR let the media along with triathletes and medical personnel participate in the demonstration by plunging into the 44 degree water.

Watch the video to see FOX 13’s Kiersten Nuñez plunge into the near freezing water and what happened to her after being in the water for only five minutes.
