PROVO, Utah -- Provo police have arrested an 18-year-old man who allegedly had nude pictures of minors on his cellphone.
Carlos Manuel Felix was taken into custody after Provo High received several complaints from underage students that Felix had nude photos of them on his cell phone and that he was showing those to other, underage kids in the area.
After two weeks of investigation, the Provo Police Department were able to track down Felix and interview him about the allegations against him. He eventually admitted to having the pictures on his phone and that he used them for sexual gratification.
After allowing Provo police to extract the pictures from his phone, Felix was arrested and booked into the Utah County Jail on charges of sexual exploitation of a minor and dealing in material harmful to a minor.
Felix was also charged with one count of assault for allegedly biting and hitting an underage teen who refused to get more pictures of students for him.
Provo School District officials have met with parents of students whose photos were found on the phone and are dealing with the young woman who allegedly helped Felix get the original photos.
Felix will remain behind bars on a $10,000 cash only bail.
