SALT LAKE CITY – Four juveniles who were in a vehicle that went over a barrier on a freeway on-ramp and slid down an embankment about 175 feet before impacting some trees and a chain link fence walked away without injuries Sunday.
Utah Highway Patrol officials said the driver of the vehicle took the turn at the 2300 East ramp onto I-80 too fast, and the vehicle hit and went over the concrete barrier.
FOX 13 News first heard reports of the incident around 6:25 p.m. Sunday.
The vehicle traveled an estimated 175 feet after going over the barrier, and the car went through some trees and into a chain link fence. All four occupants were wearing seat belts, and none suffered injuries.
A photo from the crash site shows the damage to the car, and a Utah Department of Transportation Camera at the scene shows a tow truck pulling the car back up the embankment, see the gallery above for those images.
