BOX ELDER COUNTY, Utah — A microburst windstorm caused severe wind damage in a small Box Elder County town Monday afternoon.

Residents of Portage saw trees uprooted, roofs ripped off of sheds and debris blown through the streets.

A patio cover fell on a resident and sent her to the hospital, according to City Councilwoman Opal Morrison.

Portage is on the Utah/Idaho border, almost 100 miles north of Salt Lake City.
