Power has been restored to thousands of Rocky Mountain Power customers in the Sandy and Midvale areas after an outage occurred Tuesday afternoon.
The power outage affected customers in the 84047 and 84070 ZIP codes.
According to Rocky Mountain Power, the outage originated at a substation at 600 East and 7800 South. A company spokesman said some birds got into the substation and caused some fuses or circuit breakers to trip.
Anyone still without power is asked to call 877-508-5088.
