ELY, Nevada — A Henderson, Nevada girl died Monday morning in a crash on U.S. 93.
According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, troopers responded to the scene, about 47 miles north of Ely, shortly after 11 a.m.
A statement from NHP said a Mercury passenger car driven by 18-year-old Angela Brooks, of Las Vegas, appears to have crossed the center line and traveled off the left side of the road.
Brooks then overcorrected the vehicle back onto the highway, across the southbound and northbound lanes, then went off the right side of the road, the NHP statement said.
After Brooks made another attempt to get the car back in the northbound lane, the car rotated and overturned, ejecting the 15-year-old female passenger from the vehicle, the statement said.
The passenger, who was not identified, died at the scene. Brooks suffered minor injuries.
