PARADISE, Utah – Officials said a 46-year-old man collapsed running the RAGNAR relay and has died.
The Cache County Sheriff’s Office said Tyler Rasch of Park City died while running Friday morning in Paradise, Utah.
Cache County Sheriff Lt. Brian Locke said Rasch was six miles into his 6.2-mile leg of the race when he collapsed; his team, including his wife, was nearby.
An off-duty paramedic for Murray City, Joseph Beard, was driving a support vehicle for another team and saw Rasch go down.
Beard immediately rushed to help Rasch along with a nearby nurse who started CPR and used a defibrillator on his heart.
Rasch was rushed to the hospital where he later died.
