Parents discuss ways to keep kids active while beating the summer heat

Posted

SALT LAKE CITY -- Rachel Nelson is a mom who has experienced the summer dilemma.

"If we can find any answer for the hot boredom, we are there," said Nelson as she watched her children play in the Seven Canyons Fountain at Liberty Park in Salt Lake City.

"Hot Boredom" may just be the best name for what parents and their children are experiencing as the thermometer flirts with triple digits and ozone fills the air.

Other parents flock to indoor attractions like the Loveland Living Planet Aquarium. In fact, it's not just parents.

Carrie Rockwood is entertaining a crew of nieces and nephews this week.

"It is a nice place to escape," said Rockwood at the Aquarium.
