Homemade Meatball Hoagies
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/4 cup parsley, chopped
- 2 tablespoons canola oil
- 2 cups pasta sauce, any kind
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 4 hoagie buns, split
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese, grated
- Salt and Pepper, to taste
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef and next four ingredients with salt and pepper. Form into 12 medium size balls. Heat a frying pan up to medium high heat. Cook the meatballs in the pan on each side until desired doneness.
In a small saucepan up to medium heat, add the pasta sauce and oregano for 3-4 minutes.
On a baking sheet, divide the mozzarella cheese among the 4 hoagies. Bake for 4-5 minutes or until slightly toasted and cheese melted. Add three meatballs to each sub. Top with desired amount of pasta sauce. Garnish with Parmesan cheese. Serve immediately.
