KABUL, Afghanistan (CNN) — At least 25 people were killed and 10 others injured in a suicide attack near a U.S. base in eastern Afghanistan, officials said.
A suicide car bomb went off near a coalition forces base in the city of Khost on Sunday evening, according to Faizullah Ghairat, police chief of Khost Province.
A U.S. military official told CNN: “We are aware of an explosion in Khost Province, and are gathering further information.”
It wasn’t immediately clear who was responsible for the attack.
