SANDY, Utah -- The South Towne Expo Center is often home to unusual sights, smells and sounds. This week is no different.
The Days of '47 preview has a giant orange octopus, statues of the Wright Brothers, and even balloon animals.
"There's no two floats the same. They have the same theme, but everybody has a different take on it," said Parade Committee member Tom Colligan.
The preview features 31 of the 41 floats expected in the Parade, and fans who attend the free event can vote for the People's Choice and Kid's Choice Awards.
Jamie Rowberry has been bringing her family to the event for four years.
"This is our favorite summer tradition," Rowberry said.
The preview is free of charge and runs until 9 p.m. on Monday and from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday.
The South Towne Expo is located at 9575 S. State Street in Sandy.
