A balloon artist set a new Guinness World Record Saturday with his balloon structure.
Jeremy Telford attempted to break the record for the largest balloon structure by an individual. The attempt was part of the 20th anniversary celebrations at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi.
The goal was to create a sculpture only from balloons that was bigger than 22 feet by 45 feet, a record that stood since 2011.
“Behind me is your typical one balloon wiener dog, like a clown would make at a party, out of over 8,800 balloons,” said Jeremy Telford, balloon artist.
His structure secured the new record measuring 65 feet by 32 feet.
The record-breaking balloon dog didn’t last long. Telford took a weed whacker to his own creation right after the record was certified because the space was needed for another event.
