- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 (2.25 oz.) can black olives, sliced
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 1 tablespoon canola oil
- 3 large pitas, cut in half
- 1/2 medium cucumber, dicedTahini Sauce:
- 1/4 cup tahini paste
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and Pepper, to taste
In a large bowl, mix together the beef, olives, oregano, basil, lemon, salt and pepper. Form 12 small patties. Bring a canola oil in a large skillet or brushed on a grill up to medium high heat. Cook patties for 3-4 minutes per side or to desired doneness.
For the sauce, mix all ingredients in a bowl with salt and pepper. Place 2 patties in each pita half. Top with some of the sauce and cucumbers. Serve immediately.
