Renaissance Ranch Outpatient Program Directors Drew Redd and Bryan Hedin from Renaissance Ranch Outpatient shared their addiction recovery stories and talked about the "Band of Brothers" slogan.

Program Director's Drew Redd and Bryan Hedin from Renaissance Ranch Outpatient shared their addiction recovery stories and talked about the "Band of Brothers" slogan.

The name "Band of Brothers" was borrowed from a television show and refers to the support system former Renaissance Ranch Outpatient clients provide for each other.

"What we do after treatment is crucial because we gotta stick together and we gotta keep telling each other when we're struggling and when we're in pain and we do that," Hedin said.

Hedin said the first step in treating addiction is telling someone else the truth about it.

"It's tough. The first thing is to be honest to somebody that you trust. Tell the truth as soon as possible. Get the help, get the ball rolling. It's hard to do that," Hedin said. "The message for me is there is hope and there is light and it's possible to wake up in the morning and be sober."

Redd encouraged people who have someone in their life struggling with addiction to be sympathetic about their situation.

"Those people that you love are not bad people, they're sick people. They have a disease of addiction and there's a cure for that disease," Redd said. "These people are struggling and there's help."
