BIG COTTONWOOD CANYON, Utah — Firefighters from the Unified Fire Authority extinguished a small brush fire in Big Cottonwood Canyon Wednesday night.
The fire was discovered by hikers on Broads Fork Trail, and it was first reported around 10:45.
Unified Fire officials said the fire burned about one tenth of an acre.
“[The cause is] undetermined at this point. It kind of leans toward human-caused, by the nature of where it’s at, but that is undetermined and under investigation,” said Battalion Chief Scott McBride, Unified Fire Authority.
