Filmmaker Wes Craven, known for movies like “A Nightmare on Elm Street” and “Scream”, died Sunday at the age of 76 according to multiple reports.
Entertainment Weekly reports Craven’s family announced the death Sunday, and the verified Twitter account for Wes Craven posted a photo Sunday night with Craven’s photo, his name and “1939-2015”

The Internet Movie Database reports Craven had been battling brain cancer. His film credits include the “Nightmare on Elm Street” films, “The Hills Have Eyes” films, and the various entries in the “Scream” franchise, as well as many more.
