SALT LAKE CITY -- A picture is worth a thousand words, but a photo with Captain America is worth $150.
Chris Evans, AKA Captain America, is the biggest star attending Salt Lake Comic Con 2015, and his photo sessions are all but sold out.
At $150 per photo, he's likely to earn $27,000 dollars per hour.
As of this posting, the only two stars sold out at Salt Lake Comic Con are Evans and Ian Somerhalder, who stars on the TV series “Vampire Diaries.”
Somerhalder rakes in $80 per photo.
The business of celebrity photo-ops has a calculus that combines the popularity metrics of junior high school with the cold reality of commerce.
In 2015, Chris Evans is the 150-dollar man. In 2035 he might be where Richard Hatch is today.
Hatch was the original Captain Apollo on "Battlestar Galactica." He gets $30 for a photo-op.
