OGDEN, Utah — A home in Ogden sustained about $10,000 in damages after a fire broke out in garbage can and spread to the roof.
According to information from the Ogden Fire Department, the fire began at a residence at 433 Cross Street in Ogden, and the blaze began in a garbage can.
The fire spread to the roof, and crews ultimately had to remove multiple layers of shingles and a portion of the roof structure to combat the blaze. The fire was contained to that area and did not spread to the rest of the home.
While the fire began in a garbage, it is not clear exactly what sparked it. Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
There were no injuries reported, and damages are estimated at about $10,000.
