Rescue effort caught on camera after bobcats get trapped atop power pole

Posted

RANGLEY, Colo.  -- Several employees with a utility company in Colorado worked to rescue several bobcats that somehow became stranded on top of a power pole Wednesday morning, and, while the largest cat climbed down on its own, the video shows a smaller feline being helped to safety.

The two videos submitted by a FOX 13 News viewer show the rescue. In the first, a bobcat climbs down the pole past an employee, and in the second, that employee uses a loop on a stick to extract one of the cats from its perch.

"Now what the hell you gonna do with him?" one man can be heard saying to the other once the bobcat was secured by the man in the bucket.

The incident occurred around 10 a.m. Wednesday in Rangley, Colorado on Blue Mountain Road. The employees who rescued the cats are with Moon Lake Electric, and a power lineman in the bucket was the one who helped retrieve the bobcat.
