Utah State Courts warns of email scam

Posted

SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah State Courts issued a warning Monday about a nationwide email scam that urges recipients to appear in court for a case that doesn’t exist.

The scam email directs the recipient to open an email attachment or a web address that contains a computer virus when opened.

Anyone with questions about court appearances is urged to call the court directly. Phone numbers are available on the court’s website at http://www.utcourts.gov/directory or by calling (801) 578-3800.
