RED CANYON, Utah – The rock slide in Red Canyon on Highway 12 is no longer blocking traffic.
A rock, said to be about the size of a trash dumpster, fell onto State Route 12 Thursday, blocking westbound SR 12 from Bryce Canyon.
“It was a single rock that fell onto the road, and partially is blocking one lane,” Kevin Kitchen of the Utah Department of Transportation told the St. George News. “It probably is the size of a small dumpster.”
Crews had the road back open by about 1 p.m.
Fox 13 viewer Joey Shakespeare sent in this photo of the rocks on the roadway in southern Utah.
