Did you get a Marriott robocall? The hotel giant says it’s a scam

SALT LAKE CITY — A number of FOX 13 viewers report getting a robocall on Thanksgiving claiming to be from the Marriott hotel chain.

Many people also took to Twitter and Facebook to complain about the call that came as they were celebrating with their families. Marriott was quick to jump on and point out it is a fraudulent call.

In a statement, Marriott said the same robocall has been attempted in other parts of the world.

“Marriott International has a long standing commitment to protecting the privacy of the personal information that is entrusted to us. Marriott has not provided any information to the parties involved in these fraudulent calls,” the company said in a statement.

“If you receive a suspicious telephone call, especially for a contest you did not enter, we urge you not to provide any personal information, especially credit card information.  Instead, simply end the phone call. “
