SALT LAKE CITY — Utah singing sensation Lexi Walker recently released video of a new performance, and she teamed up with the Lyceum Philharmonic orchestra for Schubert’s “Ave Maria.”
Lexi states in the video description: “This is Schubert’s ‘Ave Maria’ and it’s one of the most amazing tributes to Mary and Christ’s birth. It was arranged by Marshall McDonald, especially for me and the Lyceum Philharmonic. I think it brings a lush, current sound to the two hundred year old composition and evokes the divine in each of us. What’s really cool is that all these kids are only 14-18 years old and it only took a day to film. They have chosen to spend their discretionary time and talents making music that inspires and helps them see the good in themselves and the world around them. I love collaborating with such awesome people and can hardly wait to do another one!!”
A benefit concert featuring Walker, the Lyceum Philharmonic and a youth chorus is scheduled for December 19, click here for details.
