The massive global hype of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" continues to build before it's Dec. 18 opening.

While Princess Leia was the sole female lead in previous films, the latest “Star Wars” installment introduces three new female characters.

Daisy Ridley plays Rey, a self-sufficient scavenger who joins the Alliance.

"Game of Thrones" star Gwendoline Christie plays Captain Phansma.

And Oscar-winner Lupita Nyong'o is a 1,000-year-old pirate.
