Utahns who competed on ‘SYTYCD’ thrilled to perform in Utah during national tour

SALT LAKE CITY -- Contestants from FOX's hit show "So You Think You Can Dance" are currently on tour, and, Thursday night, two Utahans from this past season get to perform in their home state.

Alexia Meyer of Orem and Hailee Payne from Roy were both contestants on the 12th season, and Hailee even made it to the finale.

Thursday night, the tour is making a stop at the Maverik Center, and FOX 13 talked with Meyer and Payne ahead of the show.

“We’re not competing anymore, we have these dances, we have these routines that we know that we have done them more than just a week, so we have it down," Meyer said.

Payne added: "And we’re just enjoying the performance, and there’s no competition... It’s stress free. It feels good just to be able to dance. Yeah, we just get to be able to perform and dance and enjoy the audience, and it’s so fun. It’s great.”

The pair also say they're excited to be performing in their home state.

“It’s the only thing we’ve been talking about,” Payne said, with Meyer interjecting: “We’ve been looking forward to it!"

Meyer and Payne say you can expect to see some of the favorite routines from the show, as well as some new numbers. The two-hour live show is Thursday at 8 p.m. at the Maverik Center.
