Two suspects to stand trial in murder of Murray convenience store clerk

Posted

MURRAY, Utah — Two suspects will stand trial for murder in the shooting death of a convenience store clerk that occurred on March 18 of this year.

Officers say Juan Andres Zalazar and Alexis Alan Garcia robbed the Lee Mart convenience store at gunpoint when 62-year-old David Marsh was working as the clerk.

Police said Marsh threw the empty cash tray at the suspects as they were leaving, and that’s when one turned and shot Marsh, who died several days afterward as a result of the wound.

Both men have pleaded not guilty.
