OREGON -- A father in Oregon wanted to follow-through on his late wife's plan to breastfeed their baby until the boy turned one, and thanks to an outpouring of support that desire became a reality.

Alex Green posted a plea on Facebook after his wife died suddenly and tragically, saying she had hoped to breastfeed the couple's 8-month-old son, Brody, until at least the age of 1.

"I can obviously do almost anything for him except breast feed him," Green said. "I knew his mom wanted to breast feed until he was a year old and so I was willing to do whatever it takes."

KATU's Emily Sinovic spoke with Green and one of the women who answered his request for donations, see the video above for the heartwarming interviews.
