World class dog trainer Erin Coogan shares tips on what to avoid when training a new dog. She brought her adult Rhodesian Ridgeback Zero, with whom she won big at the Westminster show, along with brand new puppy of the same breed.
A couple of things to keep in mind when getting a new dog:
- Puppies turn into full grown dogs
- Puppies are not just for Christmas
- It's best to not "surprise" with a new pet, rather get someone a gift card for a new pet and take time to do research before buying a dog
- Dogs need routine in order to succeed
