Trump likely to win GOP nomination, unlikely to reach White House, Huntsman Jr. says

SALT LAKE CITY -- Former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman Jr. doesn't think Donald Trump is destined for the White House.

"Given the current rhetoric in the political marketplace, the answer is no," said Huntsman in a political conversation with Susan Page of USA Today.

Trump's too divisive for the broad American electorate who vote in a November general election, Huntsman said.

But the brash billionaire might have the momentum to win the Republican nomination.

"I suspect he is the favorite," Huntsman said.

The former governor and Ambassador to China, Huntsman said, Trump's chance in a general election could come with a pivot from his more divisive rhetoric to a problem-solving theme.

Huntsman added he may run for President again, just not in 2016.

"Health and family permitting that may be something we'll take a look at," he said.
