SALT LAKE CITY – Investigators believe a rollover crash on I-80 Saturday was caused in part due to slick roads and high speeds, and two people were injured in the crash.
The driver of the truck says he was with two other men taking the I-80 eastbound ramp from Wright Brothers Drive when he lost control.
“Lost control on a patch of ice, had real bad, bad back tires, slid out slid right into the wall,” driver Brian Hart said. “Next thing I know I’m climbing out the truck, and it's totaled. We rolled a couple times."
Hart said none of the occupants were restrained.
"None of us were wearing our seatbelts, and now two boys are very seriously hurt because of it,” he said.
Authorities said the other two men were taken to a hospital with serious injuries, but both are expected to recover.
