Delta girl injured in roller skating accident receives care package from Miami Dolphins

SALT LAKE CITY -- A Delta girl severely injured in a roller skating accident received a care package from her favorite NFL football team, the Miami Dolphins.

The package was sent Wednesday and 6-year-old Tayton Timothy received it Friday.

Tayton was injured in an accident on Dec. 26 at roller rink in Delta when an adult skater collided with her and fell on top of her. She was flown to Primary Children's Hospital where she spent several days in a coma.

Tayton suffered a skull fracture, swelling in her brain and damage to one of her eyes. She also contracted meningitis and a strep infection after the incident.

Tayton became fascinated with the Miami Dolphins long before the accident. Among the items inside her care package was a blanket, which got the best response.

“She’s aware enough that she reached for and wanted it and that’s cool,” said Tayton’s grandmother Rebecca Marshall.

Tayton is showing signs of improvement.
