ST. GEORGE, Utah — A St. George man is facing several charges including forcible sexual abuse after he allegedly forced his wife to have oral sex with him against her will.
St. George News reports the 56-year-old man was arrested Sunday and is facing charges of forcible sodomy as a first-degree felony, forcible sexual abuse as a second-degree felony, and a lewdness charge as a class A misdemeanor.
Officers from the St. George Police Department responded to an emergency room after reports of rape, and a woman told police her husband touched her private parts against her will and despite her repeated statements telling him to stop. St. George News reports that after the man touched her, he forced her to have oral sex with him.
The couple’s son, 11, was reportedly sleeping in the room as the incident occurred, and according to a statement of probable cause the child reported hearing his mother say “no” and “stop” during the alleged assault.
St. George News reports the man declined to talk to police about the alleged assault and requested an attorney. The man was booked into the Purgatory Correctional Facility in Washington County.
The forcible sodomy charge relates to the forced oral sex, the forcible sex abuse charge relates to the non-consensual touching, and the lewdness charge relates to the acts occurring with a child in the room.
