SALT LAKE CITY -- A group of individuals delivered homemade burritos and coats to the homeless shelter Sunday afternoon.
The group, known as Acts of Kindness, also donated hats, blankets and sleeping bags.
The group’s ultimate goal is to create a small home community for the homeless, which they say is an inexpensive approach to solving homelessness.
“Our end goal, like I said, is a tiny home community that will help rehabilitate some of these folks out here that are willing and able,” said Stoney Elsea, founder of Acts of Kindness. “By taking these willing and able participants off the streets it will also relieve room for the other people that need these beds and these spaces.”
Elsea said the tiny home project has been successful in several other states.
