SALT LAKE CITY - Authorities found a woman dead in a Salt Lake City home and are now investigating the incident as murder.

Officers found the victim, 39-year-old Shellise Geter, after getting a tip from Millard County Tuesday night.

promo278188057Salt Lake City police detective Richard Chipping said deputies responded to the report of a suspicious person. They found 26-year-old Mustafa Aldoma driving Geter’s truck. They contacted Salt Lake City police to check on Geter.

“They just wanted to make sure that we contacted her and figured out if he was supposed to have the vehicle,” Chipping said. “So we responded out to her address.”

Detectives found Geter dead inside, but said they’re still investigating whether she was killed at home, or moved there from somewhere else.

But, Chipping said there was enough evidence to arrest Aldoma on possible murder charges. He was transported and booked into the Salt Lake County jail Wednesday afternoon.

Neighbors were shocked by the discovery. They said police cars were a common sight at Geter’s home because of domestic issues, but they never expected her to be murdered.

“It’s shocking,” said neighbor Sergio Garcia. “To have something like this happen so close to my house, I have kids.”

Chipping said at this time there isn’t another suspect, they’re still investigating what happened, and when.
