Suspect in alleged domestic violence attack fatally shot by police in Ogden

OGDEN, Utah -- Police in Ogden responded to a domestic violence call Friday and arrived to find a man stabbing a woman, and in the ensuing officer-involved shooting the suspect who was wielding the knife was killed.

According to police, the incident occurred on North Street in the area of Washington Boulevard and Monroe Street. FOX 13 News first heard report of the shooting at 4:49 p.m.

Lt. Danielle Croyle, Ogden Police Department, confirmed the officer who was involved is uninjured. The woman who was stabbed has been taken to an area hospital in serious condition.

Police stated in a tweet they responded to a call about a domestic violence incident, and, when they arrived, they observed the suspect stabbing a woman. It is not clear exactly what happened next, but shots were fired and the suspect is dead.

Ogden police say the Weber County Homicide Task/Critical Incident Team is conducting an independent investigation.
