ST. GEORGE, Utah – Officers have arrested a man in St. George after seeing bottles of prescription marijuana in his car but that’s not why he is being charged.

According to the St. George News, a trooper stopped 21-year-old John Arthur Hernandez, of North Hills, California, Friday for a traffic violation.

That’s when the trooper saw the medical marijuana and then found almost 60 grams of cocaine, a scale and a grinder.

However, even if Hernandez did not have cocaine on him during the stop, he still would have been in trouble.

Under current Utah law, medical marijuana patients cannot legally bring medical marijuana into Utah.

He is facing felony drug charges with intent to distribute.
