WASHINGTON (CNN) — Marco Rubio is going all-in blasting Donald Trump’s physical appearance.
During a Sunday night rally at Roanoke College in Virginia, the Florida senator said of the GOP presidential front-runner, “Donald is not going to make America great, he’s going to make America orange.”
Rubio also pushed back on one of Trump’s most recent insults. “Now the other thing he says, he’s always calling me Little Marco. And I’ll admit he’s taller than me. He’s like 6’2, which is why I don’t understand why his hands are the size of someone who is 5’2. Have you seen his hands? There like this. And you know what they say about men with small hands? You can’t trust them.”
These were only the latest Rubio jabs at the mogul candidate, in an escalating war of words between the pair that began at Thursday’s CNN Republican debate in Houston.
The feud escalating when Trump tweeted out attacks — some of which were misspelled — referring to Rubio as a “lightweight,” among other taunts.
Rubio in the following days returned fire with a series campaign rally insult-comic sessions against Trump. At one event he he mocked Trump’s misspelled tweets and joked that the billionaire was worried about “wet” pants at the debate.
Saturday brought a new wave of attacks from Rubio.
“He put out a picture of having makeup put on me at the debate. Which is amazing to me that the guy with the worst spray tan in America is attacking me for putting on makeup. Donald Trump likes to sue people. He should sue whoever did that to his face with that,” Rubio said after referring to Trump’s private plane as “Hair Force One.”
Rubio also didn’t hold back on social media. Friday, Rubio joined the Twitter movement “#NeverTrump,” a social media trend that opposed Trump’s presidential bid.
