Utah’s ‘Mr. Inspiration’ inspires with a smile, and some great moves

OREM, Utah -- Utah has a new Mr. Inspiration who goes by the name of Reggie Washburn.

Though if he can't discharge his duties for any reason, there's a roomful of runner-ups fully capable of fulfilling the role.

Mr. Inspiration is a pageant organized by Turn Community Services, which is a non-profit agency helping people with developmental disabilities.

"These are men that we believe have inspiring and incredible stories to tell," said Dave Hennessey, Associate Director at Turn.

Winners of more traditional pageants judged the Mr. Inspiration contest.

Miss Orem Outstanding Teen Jacquelin Jenkins said the challenge was making a choice between all the men she learned to admire.

"I just really wanted to get to know the contestants," Jenkins said. "I think sometimes when you have a disability it's really hard to get past that barrier. People in the community can be scared, and I wanted to make sure that was not a factor today."

The pageant was held at the Scera Performing Arts Center in Orem.
